Industrial Architecture Rooted in Efficiency and Identity

Following Persian Standard’s proposal for a new factory, the project was examined through multiple lenses, with the production process as its core priority. The layout was therefore organized to align with international industrial standards while responding precisely to the operational needs of the manufacturing line.

Given the building’s two-story configuration, the movement of raw materials from storage to production areas, and the transfer of finished goods back to the warehouse, became a central design concern. In response, the production lines were arranged with a controlled internal rotation that consolidates incoming and outgoing flows without interrupting the manufacturing process. A linear opening between the warehouse and workshop allows an overhead crane to serve the entire production area, while also giving the warehouse operator direct control over material movement.

Spaces with higher levels of noise and airborne pollution were placed on the mezzanine level, allowing their height and enclosure to better suit their function. Supporting programs such as administration, exhibition, and staff areas were positioned to maintain a strong relationship with both the production line and the building itself. The managerial spaces were located on the mezzanine and accessed through a bridge crossing above the production floor, strengthening supervision over the manufacturing process. The exhibition area was placed in a prominent position facing outward, allowing the building to act as a visible commercial presence.

Economic efficiency was treated as a fundamental design criterion. Rather than pursuing costly formal gestures, the project seeks a balanced solution that is practical, buildable, and financially justified. At the same time, unlike most industrial buildings, the design introduces natural light and ventilation to create a more comfortable working environment. The building envelope was therefore made more transparent, with vertical panels regulating daylight while acting as a distinct architectural element.

These panels and the glazed surfaces are inspired by the image of a human body resting in water—panels representing the body, and glass representing water. Together, they form a façade that feels fluid and dynamic, especially at highway speed, giving the factory a memorable and expressive identity. The landscape design, combining exposed concrete and greenery, further reinforces this concept by evoking droplets of water on the body.

The result is a project that achieves a careful balance between budget, architectural identity, and functional performance.
